Built on a Belief That:
Every Story Matters
Our Mission
To preserve the voices, wisdom, and legacy of every generation:
One story at a time.
Cousins to Co-Founders
My cousin and I have been trying to piece together our grandfather's story.
The problem? Time is running out. The details are fading. The memories are fragmented. The window to hear it in his own words, in the way only he could tell it, is closing.
That feeling is why my cousin Matt and I built Beyond the Branch.
We create cinematic legacy documentaries, professional films that capture a person's full life story. Their voice. Their words. Their message to every generation that follows.
Because we know what it feels like to almost lose a story forever.
When we delivered our first film and the room went quiet:
The subject, a 80-year-old woman who'd never spoken about her life on camera, looked at her grandchildren and said:
"Now you'll always know who I was."
Beyond the Branch exists because of that moment. While companies invest thousands in brand storytelling, families let the stories told around kitchen tables and on front porches disappear with each passing generation. Not out of neglect, out of assumption. We always think there's more time.
There isn't always more time.
Meet Matt
Matt DiMarino brings a camera eye that's been sharpened in rooms most filmmakers never see. A graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Cinematography and Video Production, Matt has spent his career behind the lens for some of the most demanding clients in the industry, from world-touring recording artists to the Ocean Casino Resort to the United States Coast Guard. That range isn't an accident. It takes a rare technical precision to light a stadium stage, and a rare human touch to sit across from someone's grandmother and make them forget the camera is there. Matt brings both. Every frame of a Beyond the Branch documentary carries the production value of a major commercial shoot with the intimacy of a conversation between family.
Meet Joe
Joe didn't set out to become a documentary filmmaker. He studied Entrepreneurship and Public Policy at Princeton, where a series of courses in storytelling and literature quietly rewired how he saw the world, not through data or strategy, but through narrative. After building a career in digital marketing, helping businesses craft the stories that grow their brands, he realized the most important stories weren't being told at all. They were sitting in living rooms, fading with time. Beyond the Branch was born from that realization: that the same cinematic quality and narrative discipline used to build brands should be used to preserve the legacies of the people who matter most. Joe brings years of storytelling experience to every project, not just the technical craft of filmmaking, but the deeper understanding of what makes a story resonate, endure, and move others.
Why We’re Different
THIS ISN’T A HOME VIDEO SERVICE.
We produce broadcast-quality documentaries with professional cinematography, lighting, sound design, and narrative structure. Our films are designed to feel like a 60 Minutes feature: intimate, polished, and deeply human.
WE DON’T RUSH.
We spend the time necessary to build trust with your family and your documentary subject. The best stories come from real comfort and genuine connection, not a 30-minute shoot.
IT’S A GIFT FOR GENERATIONS.
This film isn’t just for you. It’s for your children, their children, and every generation that follows. We design every film to stand the test of time, both in quality and in emotional impact.
